1. Eternal Death
It is a guarantee that one day you will die. All men will. When that day comes, God's Word promises that you and I and everyone will be judged. "It is appointed for man to die once & after that comes judgment" (Heb. 9:27) God is a good judge, and as a good judge cannot let evil go unpunished. "You are not a God who delights in wickedness; evil may not dwell with you."(Ps. 5:4-7) This is terrifying, horrible news. Why? Because you have sinned. You are evil. We are born dead in our trespasses (Eph. 2) "All have sinned & fall short of the glory of God"(Rom. 3:23) "Your iniquities have made a separation between you & your God"(Isa. 59:2). It does not matter if you consider yourself a "good person." In the eyes of God, "All our righteous deeds are as filthy rags."(Isa. 59:6).
Similar to how breaking the law comes with a punishment, breaking God's law bears serious consequences. According to God's Word, "The wages of sin is death..."-Rom. 6:23. This death is described by the Bible as eternal, everlasting, torment day and night, and a lake of fire. Hell is real. Hell is eternal. Hell is the punishment that every human on earth deserves.
2. Jesus Christ
"...but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Rom. 6:23) God gives salvation freely as a gift to those who place faith in finished, saving work of Christ. Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, lived a perfect human life with no sin, and died in the place of all who would be saved to pay the price for their sins. "For our sake [God] made [Jesus] to be sin who knew no sin"(2 Cor. 5:21). God made one way for forgiveness. God made one way to heaven. God did not owe us a way to salvation; God owed us wrath. But God in his love, mercy, and grace sent Jesus to die in our place. Jesus Christ is the only cure for our sickness. Jesus Christ is the only way to God. "I am the way & the truth & the life. No one can come to the Father except through me."-Jesus, Jn. 14:6
3. Eternal Life
"Repent, therefore, of this wickedness of yours, & pray to the Lord that, if possible, the intent of your heart may be forgiven you."( Acts 8:22). "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord & believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved." (Rom. 10:9) God's Word tells us that if we repent of our sins, confess Jesus Christ as our Lord (master), and if we place a saving faith in God that the only way that we will be saved is through what Jesus Christ has done for us, we WILL be saved!
