Worship through Giving

In the book of Malachi, God accused the Israelites of robbing Him. God’s chosen people questioned this claim and asked, “How have we robbed You?” God’s response was, “In your tithes and contributions.” God then went on to make a powerful challenge: “And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.” ( Malachi 3:8-10 )That is a powerful promise from our gracious, giving God!

While the actual word tithe is not mentioned in the New Testament, we would be wrong to assume that this indicates the strong message of giving to God in the Old Testament is no longer valid. In light of what Christ has done for us on the cross and the amazing grace we receive, our giving should be a reflection of what our heart treasures.“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matt. 6:21)

Our giving should be viewed as a part of our worship to the Lord. If we are just giving to mark off a line on our spiritual checklist, we are merely involved in charity and we are missing out on the great joy of being a cheerful giver.

There are several ways you can give to Wildwood Baptist Church:

  • IN CHURCH: place your offering in the offering plates as they are passed during the Sunday morning service.

  • DROP OFF: Drop Off Your Offering to the Church Office (M-Th).

  • MAIL: You can mail your offering to Wildwood BC, 101 Auburn Dr., Clinton, MS 39056.

  • ONLINE USING YOUR BANK: send your offering by using the online Banking feature provided by your bank. When you use this method, wildwood pays no fees. You can make a one-time payment or setup recurring payments just like you do with other bills that you pay each month.
